Welcome to Bobs Wood Boats
Updated September 6th, 2007

The boats I build are plank-on-frame construction using original plans of full sized boats obtained from museums and plan services. They are then scaled down to size, usually 1/12 (1"=1'-0") because that allows me to have fun with things that will actually operate, like anchors and winches. They are models of operational work boats and the models have seen many hours on the water.

Some of these boats may be for sale in the near future. They could be sold as operational or stripped down for static display. If interested, please contact us. The boats are occasionally displayed and operated at model boat shows or festivals. They are listed in the order they were built with additional sections for General Construction plus Questions and Comments.

Although each boat is very different from the last, the hulls are all built plank-on-frame as mentioned above. I try to add something new and different on each model and what I learn on one boat may be carried on to the next.

Enjoy the tour!
